Hiking in the Peloponnese

The arid lands of the Peloponnese, attached to mainland Greece by the Corinthian isthmus, are a favourite spot for hikers. Many places can only be accessed on foot, keeping mass tourism at bay and ensuring your tranquillity. The Mani peninsula is a magnificent site overflowing with little villages clinging to the mountain peaks. The best places to go trekking are the Loussios gorges and its floating monasteries. The best thing about the region is you can stop almost anywhere for culture and relaxation.

Crete is a great place for hiking, because of its variety of landscapes and great climate. The Samaria gorges, in the south of the island is the most popular hike among visitors.
