Why take out travel insurance for Greece?

When you decide to travel to a faraway destination like Greece, your main aim is to get away from it all: enjoy the scenery, make new discoveries and encounters, or simply relax… but certainly not to worry!

Last-minute cancellations, lost luggage, health concerns… these are just some of the unforeseen circumstances that can arise before and during your stay in Greece and tarnish your trip.

Before departure, it covers you in the event of cancellation for medical or non-medical reasons (refusal of leave after initial acceptance, loss of employment following redundancy). Once on site, it covers hospitalization costs and assistance in the event of repatriation. What’s more, you’ll be reimbursed for services not taken up if your stay is interrupted.

Above all, unlike other insurance policies on the market, it protects you against certain risks related to pandemics, and in particular COVID-19.

What situations are covered by COVID 19 cover?

In an ever-changing environment, we have negotiated additional insurance cover to help you prepare for your trip. In concrete terms, the following guarantees are added to the existing ones:

  • Coverage of cancellation costs if a traveler becomes ill with COVID-19 before departure (on presentation of a positive test and a medical certificate), or receives the results of his PCR test later than the time required by the airline.
  • Reimbursement of cancellation fees due to denied boarding, following a health inspection on arrival at the departure airport, such as a temperature check by the airline or any other factor related to COVID-19.
  • Reimbursement of unused travel services in the event of interruption of your stay, whether due to quarantine, repatriation or hospitalization as a result of COVID-19.
  • Reimbursement of accommodation costs if you are quarantined at your destination, up to €150 per person per night, for up to 14 days.
  • Reimbursement of local medical expenses in the event of hospitalization in connection with COVID-19
  • Reimbursement of the cost of setting up a local telephone service, up to a maximum of 80€.
  • In the event of hospitalization, payment of telephone costs to the assistance center (actual costs, maximum 200€ per case).
  • Coverage of psychological support in the event of quarantine or hospitalization.

What are the terms and conditions?

The price of this 100% peace of mind travel insurance, including pandemic coverage, is 4% of the total cost of your trip.

Would you like to subscribe? Nothing could be simpler! All you have to do is log on to your customer area, whose access codes were sent to you by your advisor when you validated your quote. In this fully personalized area, you can finalize your registration and choose whether or not to take out insurance before proceeding to payment for your trip. The insurance covers all persons registered on the same file. What’s more, its cost is directly indexed to the cost of your trip to Greece.

This should give you the peace of mind you need to plan your next vacation!

Our insurance exclusions

The insurance will not reimburse cancellation costs if Greece’s borders are closed. The same applies if the borders of your country of origin are closed.

However, in the event of Icelandic borders being closed at the time of your trip, we would be unable to provide you with the services you have booked and your trip would therefore be compromised. In such a situation, bynativ and Grèce sur mesure would have to reimburse you for the costs incurred for your trip via our agency. We would also offer to reschedule your trip at a later date, again free of charge.

What’s more, the insurance will not cover cancellation costs if a traveler deliberately decides to cancel his or her trip while the borders are open.

Furthermore, even if it is possible to take out insurance after registering for a trip, any event occurring between the date of booking the trip and the date of taking out the insurance will not be covered in the event of a claim, as coverage begins on the day the insurance is taken out.
