Frequently Asked Questions

To help you plan your trip to Greece, here is a list of answers to the questions that our clients ask us the most. This list is obviously not exhaustive, nor does it include all of the questions you may come up with, but we’ve tried to answer most of them! 1.1. How does a reservation with Greece Like a Local work?

First, you have to fill out an enquiry form as completely as possible. Every detail matters. You can also contact us on Skype or by phone. We appreciate direct contact with our customers as it allows us to get to know you better, understand your wishes and save time in the preparation of your tailor made holiday in Greece.
One of our local travel specialists will then send you a detailed proposal that can easily be further adapted to your needs. It will include a list of accommodations and services as well as a definite price. Once the trip meets all your requirements, we generally ask for a 30% deposit (see our terms and conditions). The rest of the payment is due 30 days prior to your arrival. You can either pay via bank transfer or using our secured payment system.
Once we have booked all your services, we will send you all the information you need regarding your trip to Greece. This package generally includes hotel vouchers, car rentals and any others services that are part of your trip. We also provide you with a 24/7 emergency number to reach us in Athens.

1.2. What is Greece Like a Local's cancellation policy?

In the event of your cancellation the following fees apply:
- Up to 21 days before your arrival date, 25% of the trip’s total cost.
- From 20 to 10 days before your arrival date, 50% of the trip’s total cost.
- From 9 to 2 days before your arrival date, 80 % of the trip’s total cost.
- From 2 days until arrival to the arrival date, 100% of the trip’s total cost.
All cancellations must be submitted by email with acknowledgment of receipt. As a local agency we cannot organize our clients’ international flights. Because of thise, no remunerations can be asked of us by the client in the event of delays or cancellations of flights.

1.3 Insurance

Travel insurance can further protect you in the event of cancellation due to unexpected events. Our local agency cannot directly provide you with travel insurance to Greece. Meanwhile, in order to better meet our clients’ needs, we have developed an agreement with the renowned European insurance company, GAN so that you can travel in Greece without worry. The travel insurance contracts offered by the GAN comply with our own terms and conditions.

1.4. Is online payment with my credit card secure?

Yes, in order to offer our clients a reliable and widely recognized method of payment, we use the electronic payment services of PAYBOX Europe’s leader in secure online payment. On your bill, you’ll see a link to the online payment device with the totality of the payment already entered. Once the payment is complete, you will receive e-mail confirmation. If you would prefer to pay through a traditional bank transfer we will send you our account information.
